Subway Signs Partnership With SourceAmerica
Growth Opportunities Created for SourceAmerica's Network of Nonprofit Agencies
Vienna, VA (June 23, 2014) - Source America® announced today that its expanding franchise program has secured SUBWAY® as an official partner.
The partnership reflects an increased interest in the franchise community to expand their presence both geographically and broaden the diversity of their franchise labor force. SourceAmerica brings a network of over 1,200 community-based nonprofit agencies across the country that hire and train people with disabilities. The opportunity to operate a SUBWAY® franchise brings growth opportunities for these agencies and much-needed job opportunities for people with significant disabilities. According the U.S. Department of Labor, nearly 80% of people with disabilities do not have jobs.
Long-time leaders in offering consumers nutritional options on-the-go, the SUBWAY® brand was named one of the Top 10 Franchises for 2014 by Entrepreneur.com and the Number One franchise opportunity by Franchise Direct in the Top 100 Global Franchises list. SUBWAY® is the world's largest restaurant chain with more than 42,900 locations in 106 countries. Their business model now enables nonprofit agencies to own their own business, create job opportunities and stimulate economic development in communities they serve.
"We appreciate the uniqueness of this relationship," said SUBWAY® Program Manager Dan Vermilya. "We are looking forward to forging successful relationships with many SourceAmerica nonprofit agencies and the people with significant disabilities that they serve."
SourceAmerica will primarily leverage locations where CRPs currently have a presence such as large campus locations, local business relationships with corporate locations, and prestige venues such as airports, university campuses, sports venues and captive audience environments.
SourceAmerica's Executive Director of Commercial Services, Rhett Linke, said, "We're excited about the new addition to our franchise program. We have worked hard to build this unique offering for our network and the inclusion of such a well-respected brand as SUBWAY® is evidence we are on the right track."
Other familiar brands have joined SourceAmerica's efforts to increase employment opportunities for people with significant disabilities such as The UPS Store, Papa Murphy's, College Hunks Hauling, Link Staffing Services, DOMA, Auntie Anne's, Coffee Beanery, Auto-Lab, Brain Balance Achievement Centers, Five-Star Painting, IKOR, National Maintenance Contractors, Nathan's Famous, and Zerorez.
