SourceAmerica® Begins 2014 Summer Internship Program

VIENNA, VA, (April 11, 2014) – Today SourceAmerica, the national leader in creating job opportunities for people with significant disabilities, began accepting applications for its paid summer internship program, which takes place from June 2 through August 29.

SourceAmerica’s internship program, established in 2009, provide interested college students a full-time opportunity to experience a complex and dynamic nonprofit organization. Interns will work on projects focused on federal contracting, customer service, project management, grassroots activities, and general nonprofit management. This program provides a unique opportunity to learn nonprofit organization operations and interns are offered placements in multiple departments and regions.

The programs objectives include:

  • First-hand knowledge of the federally established national nonprofit community and its leadership.
  • Career-related work experience in the nonprofit arena.
  • Exposure to a wide range of public sector endeavors.
  • Awareness of the disability community and community-based nonprofits.

The deadline for applying for the summer internship is April 28. Personal interviews will be conducted May 1-9, and selected candidates will be notified of their acceptance into the program May 16.

College juniors and seniors currently enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program, and graduate students enrolled in an accredited Master’s program should apply at www.sourceamerica.org by submitting an online application, current resume, and an official college transcript including the spring 2014 semester. Interns will earn hourly pay commensurate with their experience
