Sen. Ron Johnson Visits Local Nonprofit, Joins Ranks of AbilityOne Congressional Champions
FOND DU LAC, Wisc. ― SourceAmerica is pleased to welcome Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisconsin, as the first senator from his state to join the ranks of AbilityOne Congressional Champions. SourceAmerica CEO Steve Soroka will present a plaque to Johnson at Brooke Industries, Inc., Friday, Feb. 26 at 1:30 p.m.
As an AbilityOne Champion, Johnson has pledged his support on behalf of people with disabilities. He's now one of more than 150 Congressional representatives who have publicly shared their support of the AbilityOne program, which helps people with disabilities find meaningful work. Brooke Industries, Inc. (1257 Industrial Parkway, Fond du Lac) is a nonprofit manufacturing and rehabilitation facility that offers a range of programs and positions to employ people with disabilities.
"I am honored to be recognized as an AbilityOne Congressional Champion," Johnson said. "I strongly believe that all work has value and provides the dignity of earning one's own success. I am grateful for the many AbilityOne job opportunities available in Wisconsin and across the country and hope that these valuable opportunities will continue to be available in the future."
Brooke Industries, Inc. offers people with disabilities services including organizational employment services, transitional and adult day services, vocational assessments, supported employment services, case management and vocational counseling, and life skills training. It's part of the SourceAmerica network of nonprofits.
