CyclePoint from SourceAmerica Becomes America Recycles Day National Partner
VIENNA, Va., Sept. 28, 2015 - CyclePoint® from SourceAmerica®, the nation's first electronics recycling network that creates jobs for people with disabilities, announced it has partnered with Keep America Beautiful, a nonprofit organization that promotes clean and livable public spaces, to be the official eRecycler for its national initiative, America Recycles Day (ARD) on November 15.
In the weeks leading up to America Recycles Day, CyclePoint and Keep America Beautiful will host a series of public eRecycling collection events in select U.S. markets. This partnership is a seamless fit for CyclePoint, as both organizations have a strong community focus. To date CyclePoint nonprofit agencies have safely and securely disposed of more than five million pounds of electronics out of cities, towns, and the environment while creating more than 220 jobs for people with disabilities.
"We believe this partnership will propel people with disabilities into an environmental leadership role that benefits cities, towns, and communities across the U.S.," said Steven Elmore, CyclePoint senior team manager. "Keep America Beautiful and its partners will have a new face and voice in recycling."
Clara Conti, SourceAmerica's vice president of sales, agrees. "At SourceAmerica, we strive to create meaningful partnerships such as the one with Keep America Beautiful. These partnerships help increase awareness about CyclePoint among commercial customers so they will engage with us, providing more employment opportunities for people with disabilities."
America Recycles Day is the only nationally recognized day and coast-to-coast community-driven awareness campaign dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States. In 2014, more than 2,000 America Recycles Day events were registered, engaging more than 2 million estimated participants nationwide. More than 200,000 people have taken the "I Recycle" pledge online and in paper form at America Recycles Day events, joining a growing movement of caring citizens committed to increase the recycling rate in America.
Keep America Beautiful's Brenda Pulley, senior vice president, Recycling, said: "Partnering with CyclePoint provides Keep America Beautiful the opportunity to elevate the importance of electronics recycling during America Recycles Day as well as getting people to recycle more and recycle right."
