SourceAmerica’s Experts: Records and Documents Management Services? There’s an SME for that

It was a massive project that would require proficiency in a specialized service. LaTrecia Frieson, a SourceAmerica® subject matter expert in Records and Document Management, proved to be a key figure in helping a small nonprofit agency stand up a project on an AbilityOne® Program contract with the Federal Communications Commission.

When the FCC identified more than 40 million records that required digitization, Frieson utilized her expertise to set the project on the path to success. She worked directly with employees from the nonprofit agency and the FCC to develop a plan that would allow them to achieve their goals.

“Through in-depth consultation, interviews with agency stakeholders, and the use of a robust questionnaire, I was able to help identify which records required digitization or destruction, and which were eligible to be sent to the Federal Records Center,” said Frieson.

The project plan proved successful, which came as no surprise to those who worked with Frieson.

“Working with LaTrecia and SourceAmerica was absolutely critical to the success of this project,” said Mark Hegarty, vice president of development at Melwood. “She has the expertise and the experience that you need. She was wonderful to work with, and made sure our deliverables were clear, concise and what the customer wanted.”

As a leading job creator for people with disabilities, SourceAmerica looks for ways to connect individuals and organizations that are committed to increasing economic and social inclusion for this talented sector of the workforce. One way that SourceAmerica accomplishes this mission is through a robust group of subject matter experts from across numerous lines of business. These experts, including Frieson, are part of the SourceAmerica Business and Technical Support team. They collaborate with nonprofit agencies in the SourceAmerica network while supporting the AbilityOne Program, one of the largest sources of employment in the U.S. for people who are blind or have significant disabilities.

Frieson’s years of experience and honed expertise is vital to SourceAmerica operations. “It’s my job to keep a pulse on the records management community by maintaining my fluency in the line of business, forecasting the impact of growing trends, and educating nonprofits on what they need to know to succeed,” she said.

In her role, Frieson supports the SourceAmerica Business Development and Account Services teams and provides guidance to network nonprofits on a number of topics including information about cloud-based and standalone platforms, file room management, secure document processes, and materials destruction.

“I spend a lot of my time informing nonprofit agencies on industry trends and best practices, and I work alongside my SourceAmerica colleagues in qualifying opportunities and providing assistance on current projects where needed,” she said. “I make it my mission to highlight successful past performance to help promote the AbilityOne Program in order to support job growth across the disability community,” she added.

The key to Frieson’s success is her relationship with stakeholders. “LaTrecia is a trusted technical resource,” said Hegarty. “She puts us in position to grow opportunities for people with disabilities by helping us to identify our needs in the records and document control industries.”
