Target group: Any organizations supporting the employment and community involvement of individuals with disabilities

Practice Description

PARC has a long history of community involvement that crosses city, county, and state lines; it regularly reaches the nation's capital as its chief executive officer is deeply involved with SourceAmerica®, AbilityOne® and the NCWC. Contingents from PARC regularly participate in SourceAmerica's Grassroots efforts. PARC has received SourceAmerica's highest honors, including the Villines and Usdane awards.

Resources Needed

  • Staff trained to connect with community leaders and peers

Implementation Process

  • PARC lobbied Utah's senators and congressmen to become AbilityOne champions.
  • Locally, PARC has a well-worn footprint across northern Utah and is a leader in community job placements and contract work.
  • PARC has a partnership with United Way, various service clubs, the state association of CRPs and has its own Community Partnership Foundation Board.
